gtc in the news media press release Apr 01, 2026

Our Executive Director, the Rev. Dr. Ambrose F. Carroll, was recently interviewed by the Kresge Foundation alongside four other amazing and dedicated individuals.

The Foundation's piece, "Five Black leaders redefining climate action by centering equity, health and justice," shines a spotlight on Dr. Carroll and how his faith, energy, and strong sense of justice propels the work and mission here at Green the Church.

As Dr. Carroll mentions, through Green The Church Renewable Energy Development, "we are equipping churches to become engines of resilience, economic empowerment, and environmental stewardship. This work positions local pastors, congregations, and communities not only to survive, but to thrive well into the 21st century."

Dr. Carroll feels humbled to be profiled alongside the likes of others who have been working hard for our communities, including Melanie Allen of Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice, Ali Dural of Ryter Cooperative Industries, Darryl Haddock of the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, and Peggy Shepard of WE ACT for Environmental Justice.

2026 can be a year where we can all focus on the movement's potential to record major progress. Equity, justice, sustainability, and decarbonization won't happen overnight, but they will happen day-by-day through the dauntless endeavors of leaders like the ones highlighted here.

Thank you, again, to the Kresge Foundation for bringing recognition to the ones building momentum for our movement, leading it towards a vision of hope, health, environmental equity, lasting change, and prosperity for our communities.
