Veteran Energy Finance Executive to Lead Capital Formation, Financial Strategy, and Expansion of GTC RED's Clean Energy Development Platform

June 14, 2026 — GTC RED, the for-profit renewable energy development arm of Green The Church, recently announced the appointment of Janette Kessler as Chief Financial Officer, effective March 20, 2026.

A seasoned executive with more than 35 years of experience in energy finance and organizational leadership, Kessler joins GTC RED at a pivotal stage in the company's growth. Her appointment strengthens the organization's executive leadership team and reinforces its commitment to building the financial infrastructure and scalability required to accelerate clean energy deployment and community impact nationwide.

As CFO, Kessler will serve as GTC RED's strategic financial leader, overseeing financial planning, capital formation, project finance, budgeting, and long-term growth strategy. She will play a central role in aligning the company's financial framework with its mission-driven objectives while supporting the expansion of renewable energy projects that create economic opportunity and environmental benefits for communities.

Kessler has held senior executive positions throughout the energy sector, leading organizations through periods of significant growth, investment, and market expansion. Prior to joining GTC RED, she held leadership roles at Renew Energy Partners and Jingoli Power, where she directed renewable energy project finance and financial planning initiatives.

During her tenure at AES Corporation, Kessler led finance and project development teams on several landmark energy transactions, including the financing of the $700 million Ib Valley power plant in India and the acquisition and financing of the $400 million NIGEN project in Northern Ireland, which was recognized as Project Finance Deal of the Year by Project Finance Magazine.

Beyond her corporate accomplishments, Kessler has served in leadership roles across numerous nonprofit organizations, providing strategic direction, governance, and financial oversight as board chair and board member for multiple community-based organizations.

She holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Renewable Energy from the University of California, Davis.

Kessler's appointment reflects GTC RED's continued investment in building a world-class leadership team capable of delivering both financial excellence and measurable community impact.
